Methodist Healthcare Embraces TV - The Not Blaring Sort

Methodist University Hospital in Memphis now offers a 24-hour in-house TV programming based on music and images of nature and landscape. The so-called Serenity Channel is meant to offer a soothing way for patients to fill in silence, divert from gloomy thoughts or find sleep. The channel is filled with a looping 55-minute slide show whose length is meant to be expanded in future. It currently uses more than 100 images and was produced with the help of multimedia company Lunar Productions.
