Cardinal Health Purchases Viasys

Cardinal Health announced May 14th that it will acquire Viasys Healthcare. The deal to purchase entails a $1.42 billion transaction.

Cardinal Health is one of the biggest drug distributors in the US. Products from Cardinal include pharmacy automation systems and drug infusion pumps.

The majority of its current presence is mainly the US market. Viasys has a broader geographic reach, including customers in over 100 countries.

Viasys Healthcare manufactures products for use in respiratory care. These products will expand Cardinal’s presence in the surgical and intensive care settings.
