Quest Acquires AmeriPath
Quest Diagnostics Incorporated announced April 16th that an agreement was reached to acquire AmeriPath, Inc. in a $2 billion deal. Both organizations are diagnostic testing companies, Quest is one of the biggest diagnostic testing and service companies.
The acquisition will broaden Quest’s presence in the cancer diagnostic market. In the purchase, Quest will inherit a well-respected dermatologic pathology team, an anatomic pathology division, and the esoteric testing lab. These will expand the compendium of services and testing available from Quest.
