Sleep Disorder System Cleared
The new FloChannel system, a system designed to diagnose sleep disorders, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for marketing. The system is manufactured by Chad Therapeutics, Incorporated.
According to reports from the company, this is the only system that can simultaneously measure right and left nasal airflow independently. This unique feature allows both detection and measurement of changes in nasal airflow resistance between the right and left cavities.
This new tool is the first available from the company to assess patients with sleep issues. The company expects to primarily market the tool to hospitals across the country that include sleep labs. Data indicates that there are around 2,800 sleep labs in the country.
According to an article posted in the Los Angeles Business Journal, the company’s stock jumped after announcing the FDA approval.
