AHA Surveys Hospital Leaders About Their Challenges

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is conducting a survey of hospital leaders. The annual survey is addressing issues including workforce shortages, capacity constraints, disaster readiness and physician Emergency Department on-call challenges. New questions this year address hospitals’ top quality and safety priorities. In addition, there will be questions about strategies hospitals will utilize to serve an aging and changing demographic patient population. The survey can be completed online (user name and password is required) or by faxing responses to AHA by March 14. Results will be used to develop action-oriented advocacy messages for Congress. Advocacy issues and last year’s survey can be found on the assocation’s website.
