Leapfrog Groups Names New CEO
Leah Binder has been named the new CEO (pdf) for the Leapfrog Group. She will commence the position March 10th. One of her primary objectives is to expand Leapfrog efforts to focus more on hospitals in rural settings.
Ms. Binder currently holds the position of Vice President for the Franklin Community Health Network (FCHN). In that role, she is responsible for the oversight of operations for planning, marketing, and public outreach programming. She helped raise over $8 million in grant funds for the organization. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Community Health Coalition in Maine and Franklin Health Access.
The primary healthcare facility associated with FCHN, Franklin Memorial Hospital, has participated in ongoing Leapfrog programs to improve overall patient safety and improve care quality. A number of safety improvements have been noted since program implementation.
Ms. Binder also served under former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as a senior polivy advisor. She also served as the Director of Public Policy at the National League for Nursing.
Ms. Binder will replace Suzanne Delbanco, who was the Leapfrog CEO for seven years. Ms. Delbanco left her post at Leapfrog in the Fall of 2007.
