Medication Dispense Approved

INRange Systems’s new medication distribution system, the Electronic Medication Management Assistant (EMMA) was approved by the FDA.

EMMA is a programmable storage and dispensing box used to manage prescription medications. The device, likened to a medication box, includes two-way, web-based software for remote prescription management by healthcare providers. Clinicians and pharmacists can schedule medication delivery, including modifications to a therapeutic regimen.

Patients access their meds when EMMA provides an alert, in the form of an audible alarm. The device, after patient accesses such, then dispenses drugs into a delivery tray. EMMA also tracks when patients access the medication for monitoring by healthcare providers.
