Medication Guides to be Reviewed
The US Food and Drug Administration is planning public hearings to review the agency’s Medication Guide program. This program oversees medication guides; handouts with drug information provided to patients when they fill prescriptions.
The intent of the hearings is to assess whether this tool actually provides patients with information about drug risks. These meetings will review if patients receive the necessary information to be adequately informed about medication use. Another goal is to determine issues and solutions to assure that patients receive the guides.
The hearings will take place June 12th and 13 in Washington, D.C.
