Safety Group Formed
Novant Health, Wellmont Health System, and Adventist Health System collaborated to form an alliance dedicated to improving patient safety, the Safest Hospital Alliance.
The consortium includes almost 1.5 percent of all patients nationwide whose providers are members of one of the three participating groups. The group also procured the support of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, in addition to establishing an esteemed advisory board of experts in quality and safety.
The group’s goal is to identify best practices and performance measures to assess progress toward patient safety improvements. The alliance further intends to establish parameters that define models of safe functioning.
