AMICAS PACS Launched at 100 Facilities

The Vision Series PACS system, available from AMICAS, was successfully integrated at more than 100 different facilities across the U.S. The company plans to showcase the system at the 2008 International Medical Users Software Exchange Conference, as described in the press release.

The system was launched at institutions that already utilize MEDITECH as a health information system. Linking the two technology systems together provides a health information system with the highest level of functionality because of the simplified access to imaging studies.

The PACS system has a bi-directional functionality that integrates with the MEDITECH platform. This allows sharing of information with radiologists at their own workstations. That improves the ability of clinicians to evaluate images and diagnose disease with relevant clinical information immediately available.

The Vision Series tool supports the launch of an encrypted image viewer embedded in the MEDITECH system. Availability of this tool allows users to view images without interrupting workflow.

AMICAS specializes in the development of information management systems, including those for viewing medical and radiology images.
