Montana HIE Opts for Informatics Corporation System
The Health Information Exchange of Montana and Northwest Healthcare completed a contract with Informatics Corporation of America (ICA), based in Nashville. Informatics will provide portal and data integration technology for the Montana effort, as described in the press release issued by Informatics Corporation.
One solution offered by Informatics Corporation that will be adopted is the A3Align Software. This system, developed at Vanderbilt Medical Center, supports collection of patient data from disparate information systems through a web portal. Addition of this tool will consolidate patient information into a single access point. ICA will support deployment of the system by aggregating information.
Following implementation of these tools, healthcare providers in Montana will utilize dashboard software that allows immunization records to be tracked, along with annual exams, other treatments, and specific clinical metrics. Availability of these resources will help coordinate care in this rural area, where healthcare is dispersed widely.
The Informatics Corporation system tools have been adopted by a Health Information Exchange in Tennessee, four hospitals and 27 clinics owned by Bassett Healthcare, and the Mid-South eHealth Alliance. The Montana Health exchange includes 25 clinics and six different hospitals covering over 45,000 square miles in western Montana.
