ND Corrections Plans Deployment of AssistMed System
The North Dakota Department of Corrections is planning to implement an electronic health records (EHR) system. The agency has decided to deploy a software system from AssistMed, Incorporated. News of the contract was described by Health Data Management.
The records system includes an application services provider computing model. This solution will be deployed at one juvenile correctional center and three adult prisons across the State of North Dakota.
The company’s EHR system, MediPort, is a full-featured tool designed to support the unique needs of different disease specialty areas. One benefit of the system is that users can access records from any secure computer with internet access.
Other AssistMed tools will also be adopted by the Corrections Department including pharmacy inventory tracking, monitoring movements of incarcerated persons, and dental records. Speech recognition technologies will also be adopted, which reduces transcription requirements if physicians review their own dictation.
AssistMed develops an array of clinical information technology solutions. The goal of the company is to support intelligent use of information to streamline processing.
