Nebraska HII Signs with Axolotl

Axolotl Corporation announced that the Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NeHII) completed a contract whereby the organization will provide software to support the statewide health collaborative.

The state effort plans to launch a health information exchange. The goal of the system is to support support improvements in efficiency and healthcare quality throughout the State.

The NeHII will utilize the Elysum product suite from Axolotl. The company initially developed the system in 1995. The system allows providers to share information for an array of healthcare entities. This can support reduction of costs and improvements in efficiency and quality of care.

The project will commence with a pilot phase. During such, a number of different Omaha hospitals will be connected along with physician offices, reference labs, pharmacies, clinics, and radiology centers. After successful completion of the pilot phase, the exchange will be expanded across the state.

Axolotl is dedicated to the development of browser-based services and products to support secure exchange and management of health information.
