Philips Sells Ultrasound Systems to WellStar Health

WellStar Health Systems, based in Marietta, Georgia, has acquired 27 new imaging systems from Philips Healthcare. These systems will be utilized at the health system’s three outpatient diagnostic facilities and five hospitals.

The systems acquired include one HD11 XE and 26 iU22 ultrasound systems. One of the locations where the system will be deployed is at WellStar Kennestone, purported to be one of the busiest emergency rooms in the state, according to Philips.

The iU22 is an intelligent ultrasound system. Benefits of this new system include expanded volumetric capabilities, interventional tools, and solutions that support scanning of patients who present technical difficulties. It also incorporates solutions that improve inefficiencies in workflow.

An advantage of the HD11 XE is that it can be used as an all in one ultrasound system. This system is designed to meet the array of needs for different facilities that complete ultrasound scanning, both efficiently and accurately.
