Siemens Nets Four Contracts with Brigham

Four new Siemens CT systems will be installed at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, which was reported by Health Imaging. This extends the contract between the two organizations for nine more years.

Two additional Somatom Definition AS 40-slice machines will be installed in the 777 bed facility. Two other Somatom Definition AS 128+ slice systems will also be installed at the Harvard-affiliated hospital.

Four Siemens CTs are already installed at Brigham and Women’s, all of which are being upgraded through an existing equipment contract between the two. Those include two Sensation 64-slice systems and two Somatom Emotion 16-slice scanners.

The new deal with Brigham and Women’s includes an upgrade to newer equipment without an increase to the organization’s monthly payments. Newer functionality is also integrated with this deal.

Additional features of these new systems include a reduction of the radiation dose with Siemens adaptive dose shield. Also provided is the Siemens adaptive 3D interventional suite.
