GE Revenue Increases

General Electric released its income figures for the second quarter of 2008 recently. The company noted an eight percent increase in net income and eleven percent increase in revenue, as described in a press release issued by the technology giant.

During the second quarter of fiscal year 2008, the company had a revenue increase of $4.49 billion. This is an increase compared to last year, when the revenue in the same quarter was $4.05 billion.

The company’s healthcare sector posted profits of eight percent, netting $747 million in the second quarter of 2008. This is also an increase compared to last year, with a profit of $692 million.

Across all the company’s business segments, GE noted an increase of 11 percent. This equaled revenue of $469 billion. The company, however, noted a six percent decline in profitability.
