GE Statement Business Acquired

The patient statement business for GE Healthcare Information Technology was purchased by Emdeon, according to a press release from the company. The GE business acquired includes bulk printing and mailing services.

GE’s existing business currently serves more than 400 clients, including physician groups and hospitals. Services provided include mailing of claims, appointment reminders, invoices, and statements. The acquisition further solidifies Emdeon’s position as a provider of revenue management solutions.

The company is already a preferred provider for GE Healthcare’s IT business. As such, the compendium of Emdeon’s services will be made available to GE customers. Specific services include electronic and print billing, eCashiering, and return mail management among others.

Emdeon provides revenue and payment cycle management systems for the healthcare sector. One of the company’s goals is to link patients, payers, and providers at the point of care. Services offered include lockbox management and tools to support patient communication.
