MediNotes Purchase Completed by Eclipsys

Eclipsys Corporation announced that the acquisition (pdf) of MediNotes was finalized. MediNotes is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, expanding the portfolio of tools to support the healthcare system.

MediNotes provides information solutions used in the clinical practice setting. This includes an electronic medical record (EMR) system, as well as a web-based practice management system. These tools are inexpensive and easily maintained in the practice setting.

The deal between the two companies was originally announced in the middle of September. The deal amounted to approximately $45 million. The majority will be paid in common stock of Eclipsys.

Eclipsys specializes in the development of revenue cycle, clinical, and business process improve software. Other offerings include professional services and clinical content, all designed to support operational, clinical, and financial outcomes.
