Roche Bids on Ventana
Roche has been trying to purchase Ventana Medical Systems by attempting to engage in negotiations with the company. After multiple attempts were rebuked, Roche publicly announced the $3 billion offer to purchase the company that specializes in tissue analysis.
Ventana’s product line includes diagnostic tools used to analyze tissue samples. The company’s products are most commonly used in infectious disease and oncology settings and can aid with treatment monitoring, in addition to diagnostics.
Roche is interested in completing the acquisition to expand its product line for oncology. The Ventana assets would foster development of personalized health tools for malignant conditions.
