MedAssests and ICU Broaden Partnerships
MedAssets Supply Chain Systems and ICU Medical, Incorporated announced an expansion of their existing relationship. The two companies currently have an agreement whereby ICU Medical will provide additional tools to those that are already available to MedAssets.
ICU Medical currently provides MedAssets with Clave IV Sets including CLAVE and MicroClave Needleless IV systems. The current deal also includes Specialty custom sets. The extended agreement calls for the provision, also, of the Safe Handling oncology product line.
The Safe Handling product line includes Spiros & Genie. These tools provide improved safety measures for both patients and healthcare providers. Exposure to hazardous drugs is minimized, as well as the opportunity for blood stream infections.
In addition to the other products that will be available, the two companies plan to work together to create customized programs that will increase the value offered to MedAsset customers.
ICU Medical specializes in the development of proprietary and disposable medical connection system used for vascular therapy. The company’s array of devices are designed to reduce the incidence of bloodstream infections and protect providers from accidental needlesticks, which puts them at risk for infectious diseases.
MedAssets works with healthcare provider organizations to improve financial health through the deployment of revenue cycle solutions and integrated spend management. These approaches can improve cash flow and margins, optimize operational efficiency, and increase regulatory compliance.
