New System for Medicare Market Introduced
ikaMedicareGateway was launched by ikaSystems Corporation, a provider of ERP technology. The new technology was made possible through a collaboration between ikaSystems and Government Works, which is a contractor with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
This new system is designed to support web-based application processing, eligibility verification, and enrollment. Additional features of the system allow for membership and payment reconciliation. The system is a hosted (ASP) solution.
The availability of this new tool will allow payors to expedite the processing of Medicare applications. The system supports the functionalities described through a real-time access to information from the MARx database from CMS and online functionality.
This new system is considered the most comprehensive tool available for intelligence management and that automates Medicare processing. The company additionally notes that the system can significantly reduce the compliance burden for payors, particularly during periods of high enrollment volume.
The system commences with a portal for online applications used to start the enrollment cycle. Insurers can immediately complete beneficiary look-ups or eligibility queries. The system provides immediate responses, which reduces the amount of time for this work to be completed by staff members.
