ACP Advocates for Comparative Data
Testifying before the Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health at the House of Representatives, the President of the American College of Physicians, Dr. David Dale, advocated for efforts (pdf) to provide both healthcare providers and consumers with accurate and unbiased information about services, products, and procedures at a hearing entitled Strategies to Increase Research and Information on Comparative Clinical Effectiveness.
He cited the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) as an organization which exemplifies the qualities required for such an entity. He further suggested that Congress allocate specific funds to support such an agency.
