Health IT at White House Named
Robert M. Kolodner, M.D. was named as the new Chief of Information Technology for the country, effective April 18th.
Dr. Kolodner had a long tenure with the Department of Veterans Affairs, spanning almost 30 years, before accepting this appointment. He was instrumental in the development of the VA’s electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Dr. Kolodner’s goals include increased adoption of information technology tools in the healthcare arena. He will specifically spearhead the effort to implement EMRs nationally.
