NAHIT Modifies Leadership and Strategic Alliance
The National Alliance for Health Information Technology (NAHIT) announced at their recent meeting a new framework designed to influence and promote optimal use of health information technology. Also announced were modifications in the partnership’s leadership structure.
The alliance formalized its relationship with the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and the American Hospital Association (AHA). This was completed in order to improve the ability of the organization to consider health IT as a strategic tool instead of simply a technical consideration.
These two organizations will provide staffing support to address functional support of IT services and delivery of communication and education. Additional offerings include web site and content development. Overall services include providing connections for educational channels and critical distributions.
The new co-chairs announced were George Lynn and John Glaser. Mr. Lynn previously served as the chief executive officer and president of AtlantiCare. Mr. Glaser held the post of chief information officer and vice president of Partners HealthCare System, Incorporated.
Jane Horowitz was also named as the new chief operating officer. She previously held the post of vice president and chief marketing officer for NAHIT.
