New Chief Named at Joint Commission

Ms. Anne Marie Benedicto has been named the chief of staff and executive vice president of Support Operations at the Joint Commission. She commenced her post on April 15th. The Joint Commission issued a press release describing her appointment and previous experience.

In this role, Ms. Benedicto will have responsibility for day-to-day coordination and oversight of information technology, office services, human services, and committee and board activities. In particular, she will oversee the creation of new data products for the internet that provide members of the public, healthcare professionals, and insurers with information about healthcare providers.

Ms. Benedicto served as the administrator of both the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Department of Health Policy and the Office for Excellence in Patient Care at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Previously, she served in finance-related roles with the New York Health and Hospitals Corporation. One role there included the Director for Reimbursement at the Bellevue Hospital Center.

She also recently completed training for the Six Sigma green belt. This training, in particular, was noted by the Joint Commission President as a key asset in helping the organization advance healthcare quality efforts across the country.
