Healthcare Quality Efforts Plateau
Pricewaterhouse Cooper’s Health Research Institute released a study examining the movement to address quality throughout the healthcare industry. The study considered the expertise of over 60 experts in the healthcare field.
The report cites confusion among healthcare institutions, who are inundated by the rapid fire of quality mandates and reports citing best practice. This is contrasted by a paucity of information from the government providing guidance in quality efforts.
The group suggests that the healthcare system is at a critical juncture. In fact, failure to accelerate quality may jeopardize the entire system, according to the authors of the report.
Pricewaterhouse hopes to take a leadership role in future endeavors by creating working groups to foster collaboration.
