Software Tool Automates Quality Reporting

Patient Keeper launched a new module, called PatientKeeper P4P, which electronically compiles information necessary to fulfill the reporting requirements designated by the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative launched by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The software module is integrated with PatientKeeper’s existing charge-capture software. The tool ensures that requisite information to address the quality metrics is captured at the same time that provider charges are entered into the system.

This solution reduces the burden of work for physician offices to collect the necessary data items to fulfill reporting mandates. Integrating such a tool leverages the opportunity for providers to receive bonuses available through completion of quality reporting.

Reporting on quality measures for Medicare providers offers a financial incentive. Completion of such activities, however, may be limited by the administrative burden associated with retrieving the necessary information to respond to the compendium of requirements, which were decribed on Hospital Buyer in April.
