Splint, Cast Product Contracts Awarded by Premier
Along with the other recent contracts awarded by the group purchasing organization, Premier Purchasing Partners, LP announced the completion of agreements with both 3M and BSN medical, Incorporated. These new contracts are for the provision of materials used by orthopaedists, particularly splinting and casting products. The contract award announcement was published by the Healthcare Sales and Marketing Network.
The new contracts will commence at the beginning of next month, the first of November. As with other contracts completed by Premier, discounted prices for these products will be available to all members of the organization’s alliance. This includes both continuum and acute care members.
Premier is an alliance of over 1,700 non-profit healthcare facilities, both health systems and hospitals, dedicated to the improvement of hospitals. The organization was originally founded by 200 of the member facilities. The designated core purpose of Premier Purchasing is “to improve the health of communities”.
The combined resources of the partners allow organizations access to perspectives from all across the country, employed directly into the local facility. Premier members participate in collaborative activities to develop best practice models and determine which tools confer optimal patient outcomes. Another benefit of the organization is shared risk through pooling of resources to obtain professional liability coverage.
