Antek Launches System for Patient Results
The new LabDAQ Middleware system was introduced by Antek Healthware, LLC. The tool provides information on patient test results directly to patient electronic medical records (EMR) from laboratory instruments that are waived.
The product meets the need to populate electronic medical records with data collected with laboratory systems. The system achieves such through an ASTM interface with laboratory instruments and an HL7 interface with EMR systems. Interfaces were developed for more than 500 different analyzers as well as different EMR systems.
The user interface of the system is simple to use. System users can define the functionality specific to their needs, including identification of specific test panels, ordering tests, approval, re-running, or rejection of results from testing. They can additionally input results obtained with tools other than instruments.
With implementation of this tool, laboratories can automatically send data to be input into EMRs. This process streamlines the delivery of information to caregivers to support clinical decision-making. In addition, the middleware will reduce the incidence of errors associated with manual data entry. News of the product availability was described in a article published by Clinical Lab Products.
