Approval of New Imaging Software Based on Video Gaming

A new medical imaging application that leverages advanced technology from video games to create 2D/3D images was approved by the Food and Drud Administration. The new FiatLux Visualize system was designed and manufactured by FiatLux Imaging, Incorporated.

The solution creates images procured with either MRI or CT assessments. The team, which includes software developers formerly with Microsoft, utilized DirectX gaming tools to develop the software. These gaming features provide improved imaging capabilities.

The software is simple to use and provides physicians with an accessible image analysis system that can be used almost anywhere at anytime. FiatLux Visualize is compatible with standard, off the shelf PCs or laptops. Graphic cards are also required to utilize the software.

One benefit of this system is the reduced cost to create these multi-dimensional views. Standard 2D/3D systems most often require expensive, dedicated processing workstations.
