Digital Radiology Providers Rated by KLAS
The Digital Radiography report was published by KLAS. The report evaluates the rate of adoption for digital radiography (DR) to support digital workflow in the healthcare setting. Also included in the report was information about experiences from healthcare professionals using various systems from different vendors.
A survey to evaluate performance of each was completed by 173 professionals that use the respective DR tools. Survey respondents included radiology directors, PACS administrators, radiology managers, and imaging managers.
Five different DR providers were specifically assessed: GE Healthcare, Shimadzu, Siemens Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, and FUJIFILM Medical System. IDC, Quantum, Toshiba, and Carestream were also included in the study but were not ranked because of the limited data available to evaluate each.
The top performer was FUJIFILM, followed by Shimadzu, Siemens, GE, and Philips. The majority of clients participating in the survey had products to support digital x-ray from Philips, Siemens, and GE.
Areas for improvement noted by respondents included improved support during DR system installation. Another area of opportunity is more support via training applications to prepare teams for the variations in workflow associated with integration of DR.
