EHR System Integrates Decision Support

An electronic health records software system from Chartscape LLC was updated to incorporate clinical decision support. The software modification was described by Health Data Management.

To support this new component, the drug database from PEPID LLC system will be incorporated. This enables automated evaluation of potential medication interactions before clinicians order medications. Importantly, this system does not require additional steps for medication ordering.

Chartscape plans to continue to incorporate additional decision support tools in the future from PEPID. Specialty information is expected to be available to support nursing, oncology, emergency, primary care, and critical care.

The Chartscape tool is a browser-based tool to support management of administrative and clinical operations in healthcare facilities. The system can be customized to meet the needs of any sub-specialty.
