EMR for Oncologists

IntrinsiQ, which created a product to ensure correct delivery of chemotherapeutic agents (IntelliDose) announced a collaboration with GE Healthcare in a press release to create an electronic medical record specifically for cancer patients.

The partners plan to integrate the infrastructure from the existing IntelliDose software program. The electronic software will be based on GE’s existing product, the Centricity Electronic Medical Record.

By marrying these two components, a complete view of an oncology patient’s history and care will be available in one format.

One example where this can streamline care is for patients who require treatment with a new regimen, after failing the standard. Clinicians can easily access previous treatments and ongoing notes about side effects to chose an optimal regimen.
