ePrescribe Florida Initiative Launches
Key stakeholders in Florida joined together to encourage statewide adoption of eprescribing. Participants include health insurers, state healthcare provider organizations, and vendors with e-prescribing solutions.
The group plans to organize outreach activities and public information campaigns with retail pharmacies, health insurance providers, and key technology participants. The intent is to expand awareness about e-prescribing throughout the State to continue garnering support for activities.
ePrescribe Florida is acutely interested in gaining the interest of healthcare providers, noting decrease adverse drug events with this method of prescribing. Other benefits include increased efficiency in physician offices secondary to fewer calls to address issues with prescriptions.
