Formulary Hosting Service Available from Zynchros
A new service was introduced by Zynchros, Incorporated. The company launched their Member Formulary Hosting service, which is intended to support member services and control costs in the pharmacy.
Zynchros is an existing Pharmacy Quality Management (PQM) provider and will be hosting the new service. The system allows rapid implementation of formulary query capabilities for health plans with existing website or portals. The tool can be integrated quickly because it does not require additional or separate programming.
The system was designed with Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.NET, and Microsoft Visual Studio. It is built with a service-oriented architecture that incorporates different web services which allow communication between back-end and front-end system components.
Health plans can choose to include additional information from various data sources, including MAC lists. Drug images and monographs are also available, in addition to other data sets that can be easily integrated.
This tool allows plan participants to access formulary information using a variety of different searches: drug name, sound alike searches for misspelled drugs, and the type of drug. Formulary information is displayed and patients are additionally provided with information about alternatives which may be less expensive.
Other information provided to patients includes an information sheet that patients can take to their clinician to discuss potential changes. Other forms are available to support incentive programs available from insurers.
