Her2/neu Software Approved

BioImagene, Inc. of California received FDA approval for software that assists pathologists measure Her2/neu in breast cancer tissue.

The software, Pathiam Imaging, evaluates cells from histopathologic samples based on shape, color, and size. It provides digital capture with an analysis tool to calculate Her2/neu presence.

Breast tumors that overexpress Her2/neu are often more aggressive. Her2/neu status can also determine the best treatment.
