New Digital Radiography System Launched
iCRco, the Innovative CR Company, launched a new digital radiography system, iDR. The new solution is a sealed scanning DR system that provides completely processed images for review in a 30 second period. The product will be showcased next month at the RSNA trade show, as described in a company press release.
The new system utilizes a non-storage phosphor layer that is bonded to a series of pixel sized sensors. This is contained within a 17×17 active surface area. As x-ray energy passes through the phosphor layer, light is generated and then picked up by the sensors, as is generally used in high quality Direct Radiography (DR) systems.
The iDR is unique in that it is a sealed system that generates both superior quality and high resolution of images. It can be configured to transmit images in a variety of methods, including via an internet connection or wirelessly over an internal network. Benefits of the system cited by the organization include that it is fast, easy to use, and flexible.
The company is seeking partners to integrate iDR with radiography systems to provide healthcare imaging facilities with a complete imaging system.
