New York City Implements EMR
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene announced April 15th that it will provide electronic health software to medical practices free of charge. eClinicalWorks received a $19.8 million contract with the Department for implementation services.
The software solution includes a patient record as well as administrative functions for scheduling and billing. It also includes features to remind healthcare providers about upcoming studies for patients, such as those for preventive care like mammograms. An additional efficiency of the system is that it will allow electronic communication between a wide array of providers- those participating in the release from the City.
