Pharmacy Automation Tool Available from Talyst
Talyst launched their new program to help hospitals automate activities of the pharmacy, the Talyst Capital solution. The system entails lease financing that supports rapid adoption of automated systems in central pharmacies. The company announced the launch at the Midyear Clinical Meeting of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) last week, as described on the company’s website.
The new system provides hospitals with the means to accelerate plans to automate activities in the pharmacy. The opportunity for healthcare facilities to engage in leasing options is particularly attractive in light of the constant changes to technology.
Talyst’s goal is to help hospitals create the intelligent pharmacy by offering centralized pharmacies and hospitals alike with automated systems. Automated tools in this setting improve the accuracy of medication delivery and offer improvements to patient safety. Additional benefits include increased productivity of pharmacy staff and reduced costs.
More and more healthcare facilities are implementing automated systems to support medication delivery and pharmacy tools. ASHP estimates that almost one fifth of hospitals in the U.S. use bedside scanning of medications with bar codes, in particular. This approach significantly improves the accuracy of medication delivery.
