Medication Reconciliation Automation
Mediware Information Systems unveiled a new software application to automate medication reconciliation called MediREC.
The software system tabulates information about medication dispensed during a patient’s hospitalization.
The system is capable of data collection, display, and documentation. The system also supports acquisition of medication histories from other healthcare organizations, such as retail pharmacies.
The application can be integrated with other software systems to support medication management or simply by itself.
Reconciliation of medication is one of the safety mandates unveiled by the Joint Commission in 2006.
