Medication Tracking System Introduced by Baxa

The MedBoard solution was recently launched by Baxa Corporation. The medication tracking system is intended for utilization within healthcare provider organizations. The product release was covered by Health Data Management.

The MedBoard solution is web-based program that incorporates bar code technology and scanners for medication tracking purposes. Drugs can be tracked from the central pharmacy, where they are prepared, to the bedside, where they are dispensed to patients.

The system includes a variety of display options. Users can view the order status, including those orders that have been flagged as time-sensitive. These features improve and direct workflow in the pharmacy. In addition, these features also reduce the amount time searching for medication orders for clinical staff.

Additional features allow pharmacy staff to review departmental performance, including time to deliver medication and order types. Other parameters can also be assessed, such as nursing unit performance with drug delivery.
