Purchasing Guides Released
A partnership between the Leapfrog Group and the Partnership for Value-driven Health Care has published guides to help purchasing agents in healthcare.
Two new guides were released directed to state agencies:
- Value-Driven Health Care: A Guide for State Employee Benefits Purchasers
- Value-Driven Health Care: A Guide for State Medicaid Agencies
Both provide explicit instructions on purchasing practices that incorporate value-based practices.
The collaboration released its first guide, The Purchaser Guide to Value-driven Health Care, which was published in February 2006.
The initial guide may be best suited for materials managers at most hospitals to guide optimal purchasing strategies.
