RFID Tracks Laundry Duty

Tagsys developed the SC400 system to support the practical need for laundry management at healthcare facilities. The system includes a cabinet with passive RFID-equipped with a laundry chute and up to five rows of lockers. This is then liked to a database to monitor inventory of linens and scrubs, for example.

Washables are also tagged for tracking. To access materials, hospital staff use an RFID-enabled badge. The computer then tracks which individuals acquire a given set of scrubs. Conversely, the system also documents materials as they are returned for laundering.

The system facilitates a fully automated materials management process for linens used in the hospital facility.
