Wright Medical Purchases Product Line
Wright Medical Group, Inc. based in Arlington, Texas, recently purchased the external fixation product line from R&R Medical Inc., headquartered in Pennsylvania, for $8 million in cash. The line of products acquired includes ankle and foot fixation devices used by orthopedists who specialize in foot and ankle, in addition to podiatrists.
The addition of these products significantly expands the company’s product line for foot surgery. The existing line from R&R will be available in the US almost immediately, with plans to expand internationally. Wright’s overall business focus is orthopedic medical devices.
This is the second purchase for Wright in April. Earlier this month, Darco International, Inc.’s line of products for foot reconstruction was purchased for $17 million.
