Healthcare Supply Chain Requests Survey Respondents
The collaborative Healthcare Supply Chain Standards Coalition developed a survey designed to evaluate the use of unique organizational identification in the healthcare supply chain, as detailed on Medical News Today. The survey will additionally consider ramifications associated with non-standardization of identifiers across the industry.
The survey is one critical component of the organization’s effort to encourage nationwide adoption of a universal system of facility identifiers. This is a key element of the organization’s mission to foster adoption of a unified system of standards within the healthcare supply chain. The organization plans to leverage data collected into a meaningful, compelling report to quantify the costs and benefits of implementing such a standard along with return on investment. A report is planned for issuance before the end of September of this year.
The Healthcare Supply Chain Standards Coalition is a collaborative of stakeholders representing the variety of interests across the supply chain system throughout the healthcare community. The coalition works in partnership with the National Alliance for Health Information Technology. Participants in the organization range from the Mayo Clinic, University Hospitals, and the Department of Defense, to Johnson and Johnson, McKesson, and the American Hospital Association.
