PFT System Launched

COSMED introduced a new system for pulmonary function testing, the Quark PFT, according to a piece in the Respiratory Report. One benefit of the new system are lower costs to maintain the device over time.

The system includes a variety of different configurations so that facilities can arrange the system set up to meet their designated needs. The Quark PFT was designed to be easy to use.

Modules that can be purchased for the system include lung volume, lung diffusing capacity, spirometry, airway resistance, respiratory mechanics, integrated dosimeter, forced oscillation technique, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and nutritional assessment. Validity and reliability of measurements has been verified and the system meets designated requirements for spirometry.

The Quark PFT was designed with plug and play circuitry, this particular feature supports ease of access to components if future repairs are required. The electronic boards incorporate all system components and are calibrated at the factory.
