Treatment Solution for Prostate Cancer Introduced
Oncentra Brachy was introduced by Nucletron; a new solution that supports comprehensive volume-based treatment planning solution for patients undergoing brachytherapy for prostate cancer. The system has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for marketing across the country.
Oncentra is the first treatment planning program available that is fully compatible with DICOM. Features included are optimization algorithms with the most up-to-date profiles to decrease the time required to plan patient treatment.
The system also incorporates margining tools that can identify regions of interest on CT or in environments that support use of multimodality imaging. The system also includes 3D contouring tools.
The new solutions will be available along with Nucletron’s existing array of treatment planning solutions. It will also be displayed at the 2008 AAPM Annual Meeting next month.
