Home Health Device Launched

Motorola unveiled a new mobile device suited to support the activities of home health aides, such as visiting nurses.

The MC35 Enterprise Digital Assistant can capture vital signs. Additional technical features of the system include GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The device also includes a bar code reader and camera.

The product may be useful for persons other than home health aides, potentially beneficial for use in emergency management situations for first responders.

Ongoing projects to develop software applications for the device are underway at Cardinal Health, McKesson, and GE Healthcare.
