Anaesthesic Monitor Approved

The FDA granted marketing approval to the BIS VIEW Monitoring System, developed and manufactured by Aspect Medical Systems, Inc. BIS monitoring uses EEG data to evaluate a patient’s level of consciousness, described with a numeric value ranging from 0-100.

The indication for this device includes anaesthesia monitoring with particular drugs. The tool is used to diminsh the incidence of patient arousal during sedation.

The new monitoring system is a small, compact designed which provides stand-alone consciousness monitoring. The device was designed for less acute settings, where space is at a premium.
