Advanced Pacemakers from Boston Scientific Cleared in the U.S.

The ALTRUA line of pacemakers from Boston Scientific Corporation has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for marketing. The company issued a press release describing the approval in the U.S.

The ALTRUA product line includes the most advanced pacemakers available from the company. As well, this is the first system available from Boston Scientific indicated to treat patients with bradycardia.

The company notes that the approval of the ALTRUA line will strengthen the company’s efforts to expand their CRM organization. In addition, Boston Scientific cited the approval of the new device as an important step forward in reinvigorating the product pipeline.

The product was already described on the HospitalBuyer last week following CE approval and the commencement of marketing efforts across Europe.
